AN ODE TO MY DESIGN HERO

A 16 page booklet and animation celebrating the work of Jessica Walsh, a designer I admire for her bold use of color and photography. In this project, I adopt the nuances of Walsh’s visual style to educate the audience of her journey and playfully experiment to push the boundaries of my own design choices.

BOOKLET

The purpose of this booklet was to educate the reader about the life and work of Jessica Walsh in a playful way. I used bold colors, type, and image treatment to replicate the style of Walsh’s work throughout the booklet.

FINAL VIDEO

This video focuses on telling the personal narrative of Walsh. I used recordings of her old interviews as the audio, trying to keep her voice in the center of this animation. Although this video is not specifically made to educate viewers about her work, it still points back to her unique style by referencing her work in the colors, pattern, and type treatment.
